Despite the control issues and short playthrough length, the relaxing ambience, charming story, and beautiful artwork make this an adventure title well worth playing.
Just Shapes & Beats is an exciting and challenging marriage of sound, color, and chaos. For some, the experience may be overwhelming. For others, it will be their new, casual couch go-to. Either way it’s worth your time.
While TERRORRHYTHM is a unique medley of the rhythm and beat-em-up genres, the small scope of the title means things get repetitive fast. I’m hard-pressed to recommend this title in its current state — doubly so considering the $22.00 price tag. If you’re a die-hard rhythm game enthusiast, I recommend waiting for the release of a stable version of the game before taking the plunge.
Double Kick Heroes looks like a satanic crossover of Oregon Trail, Guitar Hero, and Left 4 Dead, and it plays like a champ. Fighting zombies while music inspired by legendary metal artists plays in the background is something that doesn’t get old.
Jack of all trades, master of none is a perfect summation of Klang. The combination of rhythm and platforming is an interesting concept that may have a future, but currently is just not quite there yet. Unique visuals and an active soundtrack help distinguish Klang from other titles, but generally ok platforming mixed with well done rhythm gaming create an awkward hodgepodge of a title that underperforms as a whole.
