Speed Runs Today and Tomorrow

Amazon Appstore’s Retro Zone, which claims to be "the ultimate online destination for all things retro gaming," is partnering with Twitch influencers this Nov. 14-15 to stream retro games available on the Amazon Appstore and compete in speed runs against viewers.

Fans who post the fastest speed runs of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Metal Slug on each of the streamer’s Twitch pages, linked below, will have the chance to win one of four Fire HD 8 tablets, plus those who visit Retro Zone before November 15 at 11:59 p.m. PST can enter for a chance to win one of four SEGA Flashback Consoles.

You’ll find confirmed channels, participating games and more details below:

- Clint Stevens - Sonic the Hedgehog 2

- Witwix - Sonic the Hedgehog 2

- Elajjaz - Metal Slug

- Werster - Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Retro Zone is also refreshing its available products for retro gaming fans

That includes new video games, consoles, clothing, toys and more. The hub now features the full Mega Man mobile collection, including Mega Man 1-6, and will soon be adding new retro consoles like Atari Flashback 8 Gold and Atari Flashback Portable. Fans can see the full slate of new products by visiting the Retro Zone landing page.

Fred is our loyal but certainly most undeserving Founder, President, & CEO (he’s just a big jerk). He started gaming with Alex Kidd on the Sega Master System and was brought by ID Software to the PC back in 1993, that glorious day DOOM hit the shelves. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and handsome boys, playing international relations by day but games by night. His aspirations, you ask? To leave the elephants and the donkeys at their zoo, strap himself down for the magic carpet ride, and ride the bustling escapade that is PC gaming 100% of the time. In fact, when he's not working for OpNoobs, he's apologizing to his wife for OpNoobs. Fred also coined the expression “Consoles? Glorified Netflix players.” He really wanted us to put that in too. He’s like very proud of that.
